Introducing The Raintree Restaurant’s New Menu

The Raintree Restaurant (TRR), located at Level 2 of the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) is debuting its new menu inspired by local Sarawak delicacies on 14 October 2022. The star of the newly crafted menu is an Asian and Western base with a little twist of Japanese cuisine. With the menu overseen by Sous Chef, Chef Eric Lim, TRR serves immaculately arranged plates that feature ingredients predominantly sourced locally and showcasing Sarawak’s unique gastronomy experience.

This was phenomenal for BCCK, as there were over 35,000 diners visiting Juh Sungkei di BCCK, the largest in Sarawak, after a two years’ hiatus due to the pandemic. All the vouchers were snapped up by the third week of Ramadhan, which was a first in the history of Juh Sungkei di BCCK.

Borneo is an island on its own, but has not been untouched by the effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic. In efforts to protect its citizens from the gargantuan threat of the pandemic, Sarawak and Malaysia went through great lengths to restrict, monitor and often times shut down movement between international and regional borders. While this has kept the population safe whilst the local government focused on vaccinating the majority of the population, these restraints inhibited Business Events (BE) and Tourism within the state in a major way.
